SMV was nominated in 2000 as one of the finalists for the Impumelelo Awards for having designed- and managed innovative projects (Eastern Tubatse Cluster Project), dedicated to poverty reduction and community development. In addition, SMV received the Impumelelo Empowerment Certificate for being selected one of the Top 300 Empowerment Companies, in 2003 and 2004, by virtue of it’s contribution to broad based black economic empowerment and transformation.
